You’ve heard it before, heck we’ve all heard it before: tea has amazing health benefits. Amazing as in incredible, amazing as in potentially life-changing, amazing as in unbelievably good health benefits. But you probably knew that. So, why are we telling you again? 

Per usual, our answer lies in the simplicity of life’s greatest gifts. We want to celebrate the things we love. Namely, tea. We want to sing to the skies because something as delicious as artisan loose leaf teas is a cornerstone for our path to health and wellness. So, of course we want to talk about this! 

We scoured our resources to discover some of the most significant health benefits tea could offer so that we could share a glimpse of the wellness tea can bring with you. Because there’s so much research on tea and its health benefits we were able to find not only a lengthy list of health benefits but we also gave ourselves room to commit to only the most professional studies to gain our information. None of the information we’re sharing with you today comes from inconclusive or casual studies but rather from the most dedicated of scientists and researchers across the globe. In other words, our list is legit. 

Tea, specifically home brewed teas like the ones you receive from us, have long been rumored to have unique health benefits that no other beverages offer. This has to do largely with something called flavonoids, which yes, totally sounds like something out of a science-fiction novel but lucky for us flavonoids are real and teas are lousy with them. 

But what are flavonoids?

Simply put, flavonoids are a type of plant chemical. They are most commonly found in fruit, vegetables, and of course, tea. Flavonoids have recently become the go-to subject matter for scientists studying the health benefits of tea. Flavonoids are a type of anti-oxidant and have been linked to reducing inflammation, reducing the buildup of plaque in our arteries, and improving our vascular reactivity. This is why tea is so often associated with improved heart and blood conditions.  

While that already seems like a lot of health benefits (because they are), our list continues.

Current studies on tea and its benefits have largely been focused on tea drinking populations and have found reduced likelihood of a number of diseases in these populations. These include being less likely to have a stroke, reduced likelihood of developing liver disease, and an inverse relationship between tea consumption and developing type 2 diabetes. 


These are some serious health benefits. If we weren’t already sold on the taste and ritual of tea, this would certainly make us smitten…okay, fine this absolutely makes us even more invested in our love for tea.
